We occasionally see a vehicle with a damaged air filter box. It is important to replace this. Why? The reason why it's necessary to to replace this air filter box is that the lid lifts up with pressure where it's supposed to be held down. And what happens is that dust enters the system.

You can see the dust if you look at the the intake pipe. You can clearly see what's passed through the system. This pipe should be absolutely clean.
